"Tafathalo" means "do me the favour". It is an invitation to come to the table.
Sharing a meal with others is an old honoured tradition in the Arabic world and an expression of hospitality.
Romano's are holding a 'Middle Eastern Feast Supper Club" where you can come and join others and indulge in a veritable feast of Middle Eastern foods. Expect fabulous food, flavours and fun around an inviting, communal table in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The Arabic cuisine is mainly a combination of Mediterranean, middle Eastern and Indian food. It has been affected by the mingling of Arab and non Arabs over the centuries. European cultures such as the Spanish, Italian, French and Greek has also had an impact on the eastern side of the Arabic countires. Turkish cuisine had an impact on the whole Arab world, Persian and Indian cuisine had impact on the eastern side of the Arabic countries.
The feast will comprise of a welcome drink/cocktail, which will be followed by a variety of middle eastern food courses to end with turkish coffee and Hazer Baba Turkish Delight, followed by a tipple of Raki. Each course will be cooked using ingredients typical of the area.
Due to the nature of this event, it will not be possible to cater for specific dietry requirements other than meat free/vegetarian.
The supper club is BYOB, sparkling water will be provided.
